Michael Ching is the composer of operas, including NOTES ON VIARDOT, SPEED DATING TONIGHT!, RSBE, THRIVERS, EIGHT WOODS AND A VAN, COMPLETING THE PICTURE, ALICE RYLEY and ANNA HUNTER, A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, opera a cappella, SLAYING THE DRAGON, CORPS OF DISCOVERY, BUOSO’S GHOST, KING OF THE CLOUDS, OUT OF THE RAIN, FAITH, and LEO. He is a composer/librettist, conductor, and songwriter working out of Ames, Iowa. His new opera, HAZEL MINER, will premiere in April 2025 at the Northern State University.

A recording of Michael's opera, A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, opera a cappella is available at Albany Records or through Amazon. His popular opera SPEED DATING TONIGHT! is available directly through the composer. BUOSO'S GHOST and his song cycle, ARRANGEMENTS AND DERANGEMENTS OF SCHUBERT are available through ECS, as is his new cycle with Reg Huston, ESSENTIALS. There is a new recording of ARRANGEMENTS AND DERANGEMENTS by the ARK Trio on Navona Records.
