Michael Ching is the composer of several operas, including CORPS OF DISCOVERY, BUOSO’S GHOST, KING OF THE CLOUDS, OUT OF THE RAIN, FAITH, and LEO. His operas have been performed in over thirty states. From 1992-2010 he was Artistic Director of Opera Memphis and is now a freelance composer and conductor working out of Ames, Iowa. Michael's new opera, MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, opera a cappella, was recently premiered by Opera Memphis and Playhouse on the Square, with Delta Cappella and Riva  in January and February 2011. Michael is now creating a new piece, SLAYING THE DRAGON for Center City Opera in Philadelphia.
